3rd Technical meeting
In times of massive personalisation, e-commerce and advances in the area of virtual prototyping applications, there is a demand for the optimisation of design and development processes in the clothing industry. In order to compete globally, clothing manufacturers are forced to redesign their production processes and create a more flexible production system to keep up with the rapid changes in the global market and reach a new technological level through advances in digitisation.
The Erasmus+ DigitalFashion project partnership met in Lille at ENSAIT – École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles for the 3rd technical meeting with the following agenda:
– Sharing the first result of the project, which resulted from the research on the digital skills needed for virtual prototyping technologies for fashion and clothing companies in the four European countries that integrate the project – Belgium, Slovenia, Portugal and Romania.
– Status and continuation of the Library of Knowledge that will integrate three databases of textile materials, colours and clothing styles, as well as two fashion knowledge bases.
– Status of the Platform being built that will allow students and teachers/trainers to interactively design a garment together.
