Library of knowledge for virtual fashion
design and technology
This library of knowledge is composed of the following components: – 3 databases for textile materials and their areas of application, example for fashion or for functional clothing like firefighter suits or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) colours and garment styles respectively, including associated images, drawings and descriptors for all the range of fashion products, fashion design elements and inference rules for relating fashion design elements to materials, colors and garment styles, classified body shapes, and a set of rules for predicting comfort perceptions from body measurements, material properties and garment styles. Library of knowledge will be initially assessed by the project target group formed by 50 teachers and 150 students and then by its open access feature will be accessed by a greater number of users. The transferability potential is due to the fact that also other students and teachers can access this result for their master/doctoral thesis in related fields.
